The South Island of New Zealand has exceptionally good hunting but also has breathtaking sightseeing and adventure activities. We have a wide range of memorable experiences on offer. Legal Requirements for Visiting Hunters
Rifle & Shotgun Users
You must have a Tourist Firearms Licence (these are valid for 1 year upon issue) before you may shoot here. The current cost of this is NZ$25.00, and an application for this Licence [ie faxed copy of your application] should be lodged with the New Zealand Police at least a month before arrival in New Zealand.
Your hard copy of the application is completed and Stamped by Police when you land at the airport of arrival. The fee is payable at this time. Applications for the licence should be made to New Zealand Police, Airport Police Station at either Auckland or Christchurch.

Bows
There are No legal requirements for bringing your bow into New Zealand besides a customs declaration.

Hunting Season
Our hunting season is from March through to August each year. You can hunt for the deer species at anytime during the season, but if you wish to experience the rut or bugle then plan your hunt from early March to May.
Bird shooting is May through to July. You can hunt geese and turkeys all season.

- Pheasant hunting $400.00 limit 10 birds a day. Season May – July
- Bird hunting $2750.00 per person 5 days
- Non- Hunters $150.00 per day
- Rifle and Shotgun hire $30.00 per day
- Helicopter flying time $1,000 per hour
- All clients will be met at Christchurch Airport.
